what is a window?

“Windows” refers to the popular operating system developed by Microsoft Corporation. It

provides a graphical user interface and various software applications for personal computers and laptops, enabling users to interact with their devices and perform tasks such as creating documents, browsing the internet, and playing games. There have been several versions of Windows over the years, including Windows 7, Windows 8, and 8.1, and the current version, Windows 10.

how do windows work?

Windows operating system works by managing and allocating computer resources such as the CPU, memory, storage, and input/output devices to run software applications and provide a user interface.

The Windows NT kernel is at the core of Windows, which handles low-level tasks such as memory management, process management, and input/output operations. On top of the kernel is the Windows Shell, which provides the graphical user interface (GUI) and interacts with the user through the use of Windows, icons, and mouse input.

Windows also includes a set of system services and libraries, such as the DirectX technology, that enable software applications to interact with hardware and perform specific tasks, such as playing multimedia or rendering graphics.

When a user starts an application, the operating system allocates the necessary resources, starts the process for the application, and provides an interface for the user to interact with the application through Windows Shell.

In summary, the Windows operating system works by coordinating and managing a computer’s various hardware and software components to provide an efficient and user-friendly experience.
